Before that moment a cancellation returns the deposit whole and a first move of date is free; after it, half the deposit is kept if she has not yet set out. If anything about the trip is still in doubt, either wait until the doubt has cleared or book now and decide before Friday evening.
What stays exactly as it would weeks out
Half goes ahead, as on any booking made more than a day before it starts, and the second half is handed over when she arrives. The arrival window is the same forty to sixty minutes from her setting out. The list of things to confirm before the trip applies in full; it is simply worked through in an afternoon rather than over several weeks.
When nothing fits
If every evening you can offer is full, ask the house to keep the thread open and write again on the day you land. Diaries move: a guest somewhere else changes a date, and an evening comes free. The same day route is still open at that point, with half ahead if this would be your first booking.
